The American Birkebeiner, which took place last month, is the premiere cross country ski race. It's also quickly becoming the premiere cross country race in Iraq. Two Minnesota Army National Guardsman skied the race at their base in Iraq on Feb. 20, following in the ski tracks of two other soldiers who completed the Birkie in Iraq back in 2007.
