Women's 40-49 Nominees

Catherine Walberg * Cyclo-Cross * Topeka, Kan.

The defending national champion in the women's 45-49 age group, Wlaberg had a tough time getting to the front of the pack in the Cyclo-Cross National Championships. But on the last lap she made her move and took home a stars and stripes jersey for the second consecutive year.

Carolyn Beckedorff * Downhill Skiing * Wellesley, Mass.

She's tops in her age group and has clinched first in the SISE Cup Series, races held throughout New England, for 2008. With 10 first-place finishes in her age group this year and a fourth-place finish in the overall standings, she will represent the U.S. at the World Masters Championships in Austria in April.

Sherri Hahn * Cycling * Westwood Hills, Kan.

At the 2007 Kansas State Cyclo-cross Championships, Hahn placed first in both the category 4 women's race and the women's 45+ age group. So far in 2008, she has raced four times, placing in the top three every time, including a first place finish.

Renata Marcinkowska * Tennis * Rock Hill, S.C.

Marcinkowska is 16-0 in the last 12 months in U.S. Tennis Association Tournaments and hasn't lost a single set. In 2008, she has won the Les Grande Dames tournament at Ballenilles, the Spring Cup and the USTA National Clay Court Championship in her age group.
