Women 60-69: GeezerJock of the Year Nominees

The following women have been nominated for the 2006 Michelob ULTRA GeezerJock of the Year Award in the Women 60-69 category:

Mary Wilson

   Wilson
Wilson was ranked the No. 1 singles player in the women’s 60-64 age group by the U.S. Tennis Association in 2005. Her only loss of the year came to Trish Faulkner in January at the Bernstein Les Grandes Dames at Ballen Isles. Wilson avenged that defeat in July in the finals of the USTA National Grass Court Championships.

 

Louise McGonigal
Skiing, Triathlon & Marathon/Elmvale, Ontario, Canada

   McGonigal
McGonigal earned what is known as “The Hat Trick.” In a single year, she skied the 160 kilometers of the Canadian Ski Marathon, did a “double century” cycling ride back to back, and ran a sub-five-hour marathon. In addition, McGonigal completed three Ironman triathlons in 2005.

   O'Connor
O’Connor won the W60 200-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles and pole vault at the USA Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships in March. She holds the W60 world record in the 200 meters (29.09) and in the pole vault (10 feet, 2 inches). In 2005, she was recognized as the USA Track and Field Outstanding Masters Female Athlete.
